新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Creates Scholarship to Honor Service-Learning Leader

April 3, 2017

The 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Foundation is seeking donations to start the Roger Henry Service-Learning Scholarship to honor the educator鈥檚 work with students and the community.

Henry, who died in 2016, started the College鈥檚 Service-Learning program in 1988 and was a national leader in the field, which allows students to earn credit for volunteer work with civic organizations.

As a result of his efforts, Eastern Florida鈥檚 program is recognized as among the best in the nation and has been named to the White House鈥檚 Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll nine straight years.

Some 4,200 students participated last year, contributing 190,000 hours of community service with 350 partner organizations and agencies in Brevard County.

In all, more than 80,000 students have devoted about 3 million hours of community service since Henry began the program, reflecting the College鈥檚 deep ties to the Space Coast it serves.

鈥淩oger was an inspiring leader who showed students they can make an important difference in the world by getting involved,鈥 said 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Foundation Director Jennie Kriete.

鈥淭he scholarship is a great way to continue his legacy, with donations providing students the financial help they need to reach their educational goals.鈥
