Applying for Financial Aid

аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ makes it easy to apply for financial aid each academic year, but please don't hesitate to contact the Financial Aid Office if you have any questions.

Due to federal regulations, you can only use financial aid for classes that count toward a declared, financial aid-eligible degree or certificate program. Learn more on that in our steps to apply for aid section.

Financial aid doesn't cover audited courses or prerequisite courses you might need for upper-division coursework.

You're also not eligible to receive financial aid if you're in default on a federal or state loan, or if you owe a refund on a grant you received to attend any institution. See more info about the aid process in our Titan Financial Aid Fast Facts brochure.

Remember that any aid offers factor in eligibility and financial need. аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ publishes annual Cost of Attendance estimates that are used as part of the aid eligibility equation. Offers also are based on enrollment status, with funding priority given to full-time students.

How to Apply for Financial Aid at аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼

As you follow the steps below, make sure your program is eligible for federal financial aid by checking the chart. Under Dept. of Education rules, only the coursework that counts toward your declared, eligible degree or certificate program will be used in determining your hours of enrollment for federal aid purposes (grants, loans, and Federal Work-Study). Complete the FAFSA

To apply for financial aid, you must fill out the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible, even if you are not required to file taxes. The 2024-25 FAFSA is available now and the 2025-2026 FAFSA will be available through a limited rollout on October 1st, with some important impacts for both forms due to the federal FAFSA Simplification Act.

We recommend using the , which transfers your tax data directly from the IRS website into the FAFSA, saving you time and allowing you to skip subsequent verification.

You (and your parents, if you're a dependent student) must create an FSA ID to electronically sign the FAFSA. You're required to use the name that appears on your Social Security card to sign. The provides additional information on how to apply.

If you enter аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼'s Federal School Code (001470), we will automatically receive your FAFSA information from the federal government.

Check Your Titan Email & myаÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Message Center

After you submit the FAFSA, keep an eye on your Titan student email — the Financial Aid Office's official means of communicating with students. It typically takes аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ three to five business days to receive your FAFSA. After that, we will notify you that it's time to submit your required documents.

The required forms can differ from student to student; for example, if you didn't use the IRS DRT to complete your FAFSA, you may be asked to provide additional verification.

Submit the Required Documents

Except for the Verification of Identity and Statement of Educational Purpose form, which must be mailed or dropped off in person, you can submit all forms using аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼'s secure Financial Aid Document Upload Tool, plus many forms are now online forms that you fill out and submit online. The Financial Aid Office does not accept documents via email.

Printers and scanners capable of turning your documents into PDFs for submission are available in аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼’s open computer labs and libraries, plus it's easy to use your or device or or device to scan a document to PDF format.

Wait for an Offer Notice

If you're eligible for financial aid, аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ will offer you an aid package based on your demonstrated need, and you'll receive an offer notice via your аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Titan student email stating the terms and conditions of that aid.

This notice will also contain information about how to review and accept your aid.

When additional aid is offered, canceled, or adjusted, an updated notice is generated and sent to you via your Titan student email, so be aware that you may receive multiple notices.
